About the
midwife
Grace has had an interest in birth and midwifery since she was a
small girl watching her mom receive care from a local midwife
and witnessing the births of her younger brothers. She went on
to receive midwifery care for all of her own pregnancies and
births. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from
Pensacola Christian College in 2015. After graduating and
becoming a Registered Nurse, she gained valuable experience
working with cancer patients in the hospital, pediatric patients
with complex medical needs in their homes, and did health
clinics for businesses across Kentucky. She continued to dream of
doing birth work and, after the birth of her first child, she began
assisting a midwife and worked off and on as a birth assistant for
about six years. In spring of 2022, she began training to become a
midwife with the National College of Midwifery (NCM) and began
a preceptorship with experienced homebirth midwives. After
graduating from NCM in Spring of 2024, she became a Certified
Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American
Registry of Midwives (NARM) as well as obtaining her Licensed
Certified Professional Midwife (LCPM) credentials through the
Kentucky Board of Nursing. She has been to around 150 births in
the home birth setting and looks forward to attending many
more in the coming years. She is married to her husband of nine
years, Alvin, and they have three boys and a girl.

FAQ
What is included in the fee?
The fee includes prenatal care, basic OB labs, home visits, time on call, attendance at your birth, a midwife
assistant, phone consultations, and postpartum visits. You will be responsible for the cost of additional
supplies, any additional lab work, ultrasounds, Rhogam (if you are Rh-), vitamin K injections, birth tub rental,
newborn screening, and any CNM, physician, or hospital care needed. There are no additional fees or hidden
charges.
Who is eligible for a homebirth?
Licensed Certified Professional Midwives are limited to the care of low risk women. Although we believe that
every woman has the right to choose where and with whom she has her baby, women with some risk factors are
outside the scope of care of an LCPM. Some of these conditions include preexisting hypertension, preexisting
diabetes, uncontrolled gestational diabetes that is unresponsive to treatment, persistent anemia that is
unresponsive to treatment, HIV infection, active Herpes infection at time of delivery, placenta previa (placenta
implanted partially or completely covering cervix), preterm labor (<36 weeks gestation), and diagnosed
preeclampsia.
What area do you cover?
